Gauge for Verification of Socket Cover / Cover-plate Outline | IEC60884-1

The SN2132 Outline Verification Gauge is a dedicated standard test gauge for socket cover and cover-plate contour inspection, designed and manufactured strictly according to IEC 60884-1:2022 Clause 24.16 and Clause 35.

Socket covers and faceplates are critical protective components of electrical socket-outlets. Their outer profile, edge contour and dimensional shape must meet standard limits to guarantee safety against accidental contact, improper assembly and other mechanical hazards. This gauge provides a simple, fast and repeatable way to check whether the contour line of the cover or cover-plate complies with the geometrical requirements specified in the IEC standard.

Place the standard SN2132 outline gauge closely onto the cover or cover-plate under test. Check the fitting condition between the gauge edge and the sample contour. If the sample profile exceeds the gauge boundary, the cover-plate fails the geometric requirement of IEC 60884-1.
