SN2223 Temperature Rise Test Plugs are standard calibrated test plugs — mandatory fixtures for running the temperature rise test described in IEC 60884-1:2022 Clause 19, and widely used together with the temperature rise dark container for concealed socket testing.
These thermal test plugs are manufactured strictly following DIN VDE 0620-1:2010 (Bild 16a and Bild 16d). They adopt brass contact pins made to the standard-specified minimum pin dimension. Each plug is fitted with at least a 1-meter connecting wire, meeting all wiring requirements of the temperature rise test procedure.
During socket temperature rise testing, these test plugs are inserted into the test sample socket, carrying the specified test current. The brass pins simulate real plug contact conditions; testers use thermocouples to monitor temperature increases at contacts and terminals. This setup verifies whether the socket's temperature rise stays within safe limits, helping to avoid insulation degradation, overheating, or fire hazards. This set contains two individual 2P+E test plugs for different rating tests: a 16A type (Bild 16a) and a 2.5A type (Bild 16d). It is a staple fixture for European VDE & IEC socket certification laboratories and socket manufacturers.
| Standard Reference | Description | Qty |
|---|---|---|
| DIN-VDE0620-1-Bild16a | 16A Temperature Rise Test Plug Gauge, 2P+E | 1 PC |
| DIN-VDE0620-1-Bild16d | 2.5A Temperature Rise Test Plug Gauge, 2P+E | 1 PC |
The pins are made of brass material with the minimum dimension specified by DIN VDE 0620-1. The attached connecting wire length is a minimum of 1 meter, which eliminates the need for extra wiring modification before testing. This fixture is not for regular power supply. It is only used for standard temperature rise testing of socket outlets. It is commonly paired with our SN2222-1 dark container for concealed socket thermal testing.
