This surface temperature measuring test probe conforms to the IEC 60335-2-9:2019 clause 11.3 Figure 105, IEC 60335-2-11 Clause 11.3 Figure 101, IEC60335-2-6-2002 clause 11.101 figure 104, etc. It is mainly used to measure the temperature rise on the front surface of the easily accessible parts of electrical appliances such as drum-type dryer, upright electric cooker, cooking bench and oven.

How to measure the surface temperature with this test probe? (Extracted from IEC 60335-2-9:2019 clause 11.3)
For flat surfaces, temperature rises are measured using the probe of Figure 105. The probe is applied with a force of 4N±1N to the surface in such a way that the best possible contact between the probe and the surface is ensured.
