IEC 60335-2-21 Horizontal and Vertical Storage Water Heaters Performance Testing Machine


System Introduction:

 

This water heater performance testing system conforms to IEC 60335-2-21:2012 clause 22.102, 24.102.1, 24.102.2.
It is used to test the performance of horizontal and vertical storage type electric water heaters when passing water and electricity, such as the sealing & heating performance of water heaters when passing water. Parameters can be displayed, automatically recorded, and queried during testing.

Test sequence:

Case temperature and average temperature test,
Five safety performances testing such as voltage withstand, leakage current, insulation resistance, grounding resistance and power.


Functional Requirements and Configuration:

1. Inlet pipe: tap water, the inlet water temperature does not need to be controlled.
2. There are two stations for horizontal and vertical water heater tests. The length of horizontal station is 110cm, and the height of vertical station is 80cm. Each station can withstand a weight of 150kg, with good rigidity, no deformation. The wall mount position is adjustable in the vertical direction, and the hook is adjustable in the left and right direction.
3. Each station is equipped with a 0.5 level digital display electrical parameter meter (current, voltage, power).
4. One pressure gauge (accuracy 0.5, minimum scale 0.02Mpa, range 1.0 Mpa) , one electromagnetic flowmeter (minimum scale 0.5L/min, range 20L/min) and one angle seat valve are installed on the inlet pipeline of each station. Each station is equipped with an interface for compressed air.
5. Each station is equipped with one European standard socket and one American standard, and one set of high-power terminals.
6. The whole equipment is grounded, each station has independent leakage protection device, the electrical control part has waterproof function, and the electrical line can meet the total current requirement.
7. The sink and the pipeline are made of 304 stainless steel material, the frame is the formed aluminum structure, and the sealing plate is sprayed with A3 plate, which is beautiful & atmospheric.
8. The maximum time for power-on "_hour_minute_second" can be set (normally full filled with water or the maximum heating time after thermostat is reset during the cycle test. If the water heater continues to heat up after the time is up, the water heater is faulty, the system will prompt an alarm). The maximum time for power-off "_ hour _ minute _ second" can be set (the water heater should reheat after period from after the thermostat is disconnected to the set maximum delay time, if the water heater still does not heat after the time is up, then the water heater heating element or thermostat are faulty. The device will prompt an alarm).
9. The total testing time "_hour_minute_second" can be displayed, and the numbers of testing can be displayed.
10. The upper and lower limits of the power & current of the water heater can be set (the power & current can be judged when the power is turned on and off, and the device will alarm if it is out of the range).
11. Power requirement:

Test process:
1. According to the standard, the storage water heater is placed with 10 temperature points on the outer layer of the inner liner, the temperature of each point during the heating process of the water heater is recorded.
2. First, start the inlet angle seat valve, then,close the inlet angle seat valve after filling the water;
3. Start the heating test (Determine whether it is heated and the current power & current are within the set range. If the it doesn’t heat or power & current are not within the range, or the electric water heater is still heated when it reaches the set maximum time, the device will stop and alarm, and the touch screen will display the alarm content. It can be reset by pressing the "Alarm Reset" button);
4. When the thermostat is disconnected for the first time, the inlet angle seat valve is filled with water, and the water is tapped at a rate of approximately 2 l/min or 10% of the capacity of the apparatus per minute, according to the lowest value, until the thermostat restores the current. When the thermostat functions again, of water is again tapped at the same rate until the thermostat turns on the power, this sequence being repeated until establishment of the conditions of mode. The temperature of the water measured at the exit, should not exceed 98 °C (system will judge).
5. After the thermostat functions for the first time. A quantity of water equal to 25% of the capacity of the tank then is tapped and replaced by cold water. Immediately after the thermostat functioned for the second time, it is shorted-circuit. The test is continued until the thermal circuit breaker functions. The outlet valve is then opened and the temperature of the water measured at the exit. The temperature measured should not exceed 99 °C (system will judge).
6. The water heater is put under operation under the normal operating conditions and 1,15 times the assigned power, with the valve outlet closed and shorted-circuit thermostats, until the thermal circuit breaker functions. The thermal circuit breaker must function before its temperature is measured, system will judge whether it exceeds 110 °C. The outlet valve is then opened and the temperature of the water measured at the exit. The measured temperature should not exceed to 20 °C the maximum assigned safety temperature of the thermal circuit breaker (system will judge).
