This battery forced internal short-circuit tester is an integral testing equipment to performance a comprehensive test for temperature, voltage, internal-short circuit, which is applicable for battery cell safety test.

Voltage Acquisition System
  • Control method: Through PLC control, the voltage can be set, voltage changes can be recorded, and control signals can be output; Voltage rise control: When the voltage rises from low to high, a specific voltage value is set. When the voltage reaches the set value, the system outputs a signal to control the extruder. Voltage drop control: When the voltage drops from the highest value to 0V, a voltage value can be set. When the voltage drops to the set value, the system outputs a signal to control the extrusion testing machine.
  • Data collection and curves: After the voltage acquisition system is started, the system will collect the voltage between the positive and negative poles of the battery under test at a collection frequency of 110 times per second. At the same time, the main screen of the system displays the voltage change curve from time to time. When the voltage reaches the system set value, the test stops and saves data and graphics. Data is exported via USB to generate EXCELL file format.
  • Control System: PLC touch screen menu-based operation, the data collection frequency can reach 100 times/second, and the test pressure, pressure pause time, measured pressure, battery voltage, battery temperature, pressure drop speed, etc. can be set through PLC programming.

Extrusion Principle
Pressure is applied through a hydraulic cylinder in a vise or cylindrical piston, causing the single cell or unit cell under inspection to be squeezed between two planes. Continue squeezing until the squeezing force reaches approximately 13kN and immediately decompress. The squeezing test checks the safety performance of the battery. After the test, the battery should not catch fire or explode.
Test Purpose
This machine is suitable for simulating the conditions in which batteries of various types are subjected to crushing objects when used, transported, stored or disposed of household waste. The battery is qualified if it does not explode or catch fire.
